Offseason and After SMART Outreach

Posted on

Since competition, our team has been working on a number of projects.

Our SMART Outreach program just ended last Saturday! During the program, a group of 8th graders came to the Makerspace at Mills High School and learned about our team. They learned about all the departments in a series of individual workshops. We hope they choose to join us next year on the Boba Bots!

Also, we’ve changed our leadership! As the new year dawns, our seniors will be leaving us to go to college. As such, some management positions have been handed over to new leadership. Not only that, but the team has been restructured into two parts – our Technical group, consisting of Construction, Electronics and Programming, and our Operations group, which handles Drive Team, Public Relations, Finance, Scouting and other tasks. Congratulations to our new team captains – our Operations captain Maddie and our Technical captain Joe!

In addition, we’ll be visiting the Makerfaire on May 19th from 4:45 PM to 7 PM. The Makerfaire is a fair for do-it-yourself projects and many other works of entertainment and engineering. Stop by while we’re at the FRC booth!

We’ll also be visiting the county fair in June. Look forward to it!
